We've just had a wonderful day-time flight across outback Australia and across Indonesia. We then had a very long taxi ride half way around Shanghai to get to our enormous 5-star hotel (which Ding booked for us)!!! The taxi kept swapping between the lane stating "Light Heavy Vehicles Only" and the one stating "Heavy Light Vehicles Only".
Shanghai is impressive. It's full of skyscrapers. I've no idea where we went, but it seemed that there were a huge number of new buildings since the last time I was here. We just went for a short walk around to find something to eat and ended up in a tiny house where the child was watching TV and the dad cooked for us. I have no idea what we ate, but it involved lots of eggs from a basket that I was sitting next to.
It's cold. Snow is predicted for tomorrow. We're heading out on the super-fast train tomorrow for Huangzhou.
