Just a few extra photos ...

the World. This chairlift brought us to the edge of the gorge where we walked around some spectacular flowers, watched the peacocks, had coffee and found a big blue-tongued lizard before walking back over the swing-bridge across the gorge. We drove back into the town and went shopping (where I bought Sha her first English book - My
Family and Other Animals - to make up for parking the car a few miles from the shops), had lunch and finally drove to the airport. Sha lost her boarding pass.

just about 0.5m directly upwards whilst showing an awful lot of teeth! Luckily the camera survived. Then we went and fed some kangaroos. At this time a pelican flew in and decided that
Sha was edible. We later fed the pelican some fish. Sha and I then went into a section of farmyard animals to feed the goats. I must say that watching Sha run around with a big goat chasing her was rather funny!! Sha probably doesn't agree!! Then she went off to feed a kangaroo. It grabbed hold of her hand and wouldn't let go. Obviously animals like Sha!
We saw a quoll!
Then we continued driving north. We headed up towards St Helens with a few stops en-route to search for more shells on the various white-sand beaches that we drove past. We stopped for pizza in St Helens before turning West and driving inland across the mountains. Wow! The
road was windy. It was a long way. The views were spectacular. We stopped off in a rainforest to go for a walk and found a beautiful waterfall. We spotted echidnas. The road kept winding its way up and down the mountains.
We stopped in Derby, but the tea shop was closed and we'd missed the recent "Duck racing". Nancy from Pioneer had won. The duck from Derby came 3rd. We went along some dirt roads trying to find a museum of the Chinese tin miners that had been in the area. We couldn't find the museum.
Finally we drove into Launceston. It's a fun town. We found a motel and then walked into the town and discovered that Launceston has plastic seats in the street that speak to you. We found a Chinese restaurant. Apparently, according to a website that I've just found, this restaurant is a place to "Discover the delights of the Orient". To my great delight and to Sha's digust we discovered that all the shops were closed. We ambled around the town watching all sorts of strange people in Halloween costumes, found what definitely was a street full of ghosts, and then headed back to the hotel.

:P. We ambled into the Freycinet national park centre where Sha found a stuffed wombat to turn upside in order to look for its pouch which, in case you happen to be interested, has its opening facing the back legs. Then we drove off to the Wineglass Bay car park. We parked next
to a wallaby with a joey in her pouch. There were plenty of signs saying "do not feed the wildlife". The signs should have added that the "wildlife will feed itself" as the wallaby stuck her head in my bag and started munching away on my bag of crisps.
The walk across to wineglass bay was spectacular. It took us about 5 hours to get down to the bay and back again, but we spent most of the time simply staring at the landscape. There were lots of big rocks! There was another wallaby hopping around on the beach. Sha added to her
sand and shell collection. I got wet.
back to Coles Bay to buy ... haha ...
some more
instant noodles and some drinks.

Then we continued on to Bicheno. I like Bicheno! We found a hotel. Then we went to look at the blow hole. We met a ghost. He had a big beard and must have been about 200 years old. He told us to look out for snakes on the rocks and then he disappeared. We found the blow hole. I got wet again. Sha bought dinner and got drunk on cider. We discovered that you can't buy crabs to eat in Tasmania.
We then found some penguins sitting under a rock.

The flight into Hobart was fun and rather bumpy. We flew over the mountains and the coast on landing! The weather was perfect! We then found our rental car (which looked like a panda bear and luckily wasn't the pink one) and set off into Hobart with Sha complaining that I hadn't hired a GPS navigator.
ended up in Swansea where Sha had already found a good hotel. It was on the beach. Without resting (sorry Sha) we set out for a long walk in the cold wind along the edge of Oyster Bay. The Loontitetermairrelehoiner track took us past muttonbird breeding holes and an anchor from the cutter Resolution which sank in the bay killing quite a few people. Sha spotted a big lizard.
This is bad! I have no recollection of what we did for dinner that night. Oh yes!! We went to a pub and drank a lot of cider. We also had a huge pizza.
